| Kiswahili has played
a leading role in uniting Tanzanians. The language facilitates
the development of unique Kiswahili-based culture, derived
from linguistic expressions adopted from various ethnic
cultures and languages. Gradually, other important international
languages, notably English, are being translated and
derived vocabulary and expressions incorporated in the
socio-economic and academic system.
Mfuko supports and promotes linguistic
and literary activities that enable the development
and promotion of Kiswahili culture and other literary
works. Actors/stakeholders in this sub-sector include
