District Cultural Officers Seminars

Mfuko wa Utamaduni Tanzania continues with its DCOs Seminar Programme aimed at building a sustainable team work environment and cooperation between the Tanzania Culture Trust Fund, Local Governments, Civil Society and the Public at district and grassroots levels in the implementation of goals set by the Cultural Policy. This project is funded by The Foundation for Civil Society.
The first seminar took place in Dodoma from November 1 to 4, 2005, involving DCOs from all districts of Dodoma, Singida, Coast, Morogoro, Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Pemba.
The second seminar will be for Northern Zone and is scheduled to be in Arusha at the Canossa Centre, Njiro Hill from May 9 to 11, 2005. Participants are from all districts of Arusha, Manyara, Kilimanjaro and Tanga.
That shall be followed by the Lake and Western Zone seminar from May 17 to 20, 2005 at the Bujora Museum in Mwanza. This involves DCOs from Mwanza, Shinyanga, Mara, Kagera and Kigoma.
The programme for all seminars is as follows:

  1. Dodoma: November 1-4, 2004.
  2. Arusha: May 9-11, 2005. Prticipats from Arusha, Manyara, Kilimanjaro and Tanga.
  3. Mwanza: May 17-20, 2005. Participants from Mwanza, Kagera, Mara, Shinyanga, Tabora and Kigoma.
  4. Southern and Southern Highland: 23-26 August 23-26, 2005. Participants from Iringa, Rukwa, Mbeya, Lindi and Mtwara.
